Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

The short version: we collect usage and user data to run and improve our services, we keep client material for security reviews confidential, and we never sell any of it. Questions? Visit our Support page.

Who we are

Bardstar ("we", "us") reviews and fixes the security of apps, and makes desktop software for macOS. This policy covers our website (bardstar.com and its subdomains), our security reviews and our apps.

What we collect

We collect usage and user data from our apps and website, including information about visitors of the site, to run, protect and improve our services. We also keep what you send us when you contact us, verify your email or buy a review. We never see or store your full card details. For sQuit (Mac), app data is collected only after you choose Agree in its welcome window. If you choose Disagree, sQuit closes and sends nothing.

Security reviews

Code, access and data a client shares for a review are used only to perform that review. They are kept confidential and are seen only by the people and service providers that help us perform it, under the same confidentiality. Client material is deleted 30 days after delivery, except the final report, which we keep for up to 12 months. Findings stay confidential.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run our services, when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our rights, our users or the public.

How long we keep data

We keep data for as long as needed to run, protect and improve our services and to meet legal and tax obligations.

Security

We protect data with reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed without permission.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to stop emailing you, at any time. Write to support@bardstar.com or use our Support page. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

Our products are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where required), and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may change this policy at any time. The date above shows the latest version, and using our services after a change means you accept it.
